This major change alone signifies that Apple has finally become serious about topping up the batteries faster, which should be the case, given that the technology giant was criticized annually every time it announced a new lineup. Fortunately, that is not the only change introduced, as on a software level, users will be warned if they are using a slower charger. That is correct; with the public release of iOS 18, you can now view a notification if your handset is receiving an unoptimal level of wattage.

To see if the device is receiving a sub-level amount of wattage, you have to go into the ‘Settings’ menu and tap on ‘Battery,’ which will then display a detailed chart. Thanks to Reddit user freaktheclown, we were able to learn that a warning with a yellow text that reads ‘Slow Charger’ will be displayed at the bottom if users are charging their devices with a slower power brick.

Thankfully, this iOS 18 feature is not exclusive to the iPhone 16 series, as the Reddit user posted a screenshot of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is a nice touch from Apple to include this information, as customers will be more informed if they should invest in a high-wattage charger to optimize charging on their iPhones.
