Do you remember Wayfinder, the action MMORPG that dropped on PS5 and PS4 some time ago? The project always looked really promising, but it didn't quite set the world on fire when it launched, and it's struggled to make waves since, within such a competitive market.
But developer Airship Syndicate has stuck with its creation, and it's announced that the game's early access period will come to a close next week, on the 21st October. Basically, Wayfinder has been completely reworked for its full 1.0 release.
It's no longer an MMO, microtransactions have been ditched, and it's now going all-in on being an action RPG with co-op functionality.
And yes, you can play through the campaign solo — complete with customisable difficulty settings.
«Originally designed as an online only experience, Wayfinder has undergone a complete transformation into a fully-fledged, co-op ARPG. Through numerous updates, Airship Syndicate has updated the game with new zones, characters, quests, enemies, story moments, loot and more, all fueled by player feedback from Early Access,» reads the press release.
For what it's worth, Wayfinder started out with mixed user reviews across Steam and other platforms, but more recent appraisals have been much more positive thanks to the aforementioned updates. Hopefully this is the game's big turning point. It'll be priced at £19.99 / $24.99.
