The franchise is one of the most beloved sci-fi series in Hollywood. Not only is star Anya Taylor-Joy a big fan of the franchise, but has hopes to one day step into it.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet for her new movie The Gorge, Taylor-Joy responded to questions about a statement Sigourney Weaver said. Weaver said she hoped director James Cameron saw The Gorge, and put Taylor-Joy in an Avatar movie as a result.
Taylor-Joy said it would be a “dream” of hers to one day be a Na’vi, a species that lives on the moon of Pandora, and serve as the main characters throughout the Avatar films.
“It is my dream to be Na’vi. I watched that movie eight times in a row once,” Taylor-Joy said. “I was sad. “It’s a long movie, yeah… It was after a party, it was the perfect thing.”
While it’s unclear if Anya Taylor-Joy will ever get her chance to live out her dream of being a Na’vi, she’ll certainly have plenty of opportunities. The Avatar franchise has only seen two movies released, but director James Cameron has plans for several more.

After that, a fourth and film are planned to release on December 21, 2029, and December 19, 2031, respectively. According to producer Jon Landau, a third of Avatar 4 has already been filmed in conjunction with the third film, with more filming to be done following the release of Fire and Ash.
