PlayStation 5 exclusive keeps racking up awards and is launching free new content for players. The update includes five new levels of Astro Bot's signature platforming, PlayStation nostalgia, and more new content.
As described on the PlayStation Blog, developer Team Asobi's Studio Director Nicolas Doucet provided a breakdown of the five new levels and what else players can expect. The massive success of is impressive, considering the series started as a tech demo for the PlayStation 4. was the introduction to Astro Bot, followed by the PlayStation VR demo and, which launched with the PS5to showcasef the dual sense controller and console's power. In the blog post, Doucet explained that these levels wouldn't just be fun walkthroughs like their Christmas-themed pack, Winter Wonder, but harder platforming levels. Players will have to utilize all their jumping skills to rescue a new special bot in each level. This setup is similar to the base game, which won The Game Awards top prize, and the special bots will likely be nods to PlayStation's past like the other bots based on Sony-exclusive characters such as Kratos and Atreus from .
To unlock The Lost Eggacy trophy in Astro Bot, players must find three hidden Egg artifacts in Astro Bot's Uncharted-themed Dude Raiding level.
After players beat each level, they can replay them in the Time Attack Mode to test their speedrunning skills. Players can then rank their times against other owners worldwide. The names of the other levels include Thurst or Bust, Cock-A-Doodle-Doom, Hard to Bear, and Armored Hardcore. They'll run till March 13th and will be available every Thursday at 6:00 am PT.
