Apple is rumored to announce new iPad mini 7 and iPad Air 6 soon, potentially alongside the 11th-gen iPad. It was previously rumored that the company would see fit to announce the new iPad 11 on Tuesday but it did not go through. Instead, the company announced a version of the Apple Pencil with new USB-C charging capabilities. Amid rumors of the iPad 11, Apple has seen fit to announce an updated version of the iPad 10 which comes with support for eSIM. However, Apple's tablet might not be available in your region.
As mentioned earlier, Apple has seen fit to announce a new version of the iPad 10 with support for eSIM. The updated iPad is only available in mainland China which means that you would have to work hard to get your hands on the device. Other than the new eSIM capabilities, the rest of the device is pretty standard as it does not come with any further changes.
Currently, the only eSIM carrier in China is Unicom which means that the device could have limited sales unless additional carriers jump in to secure and support the eSIM technology. The updated iPad will be available for pre-orders starting October 19 and will be released on October 25. Users residing in the region require the 10th-gen iPad with Wi-Fi and Cellular support to use the eSIM.
