is a great game. Most people know this by now — it's had overwhelmingly positive player feedback and an impressive review portfolio on top of that. Those who haven't been able to try it on PC but wanted a chance on Switch will find that the game remains great. Veterans who have been into the Blue Hole and back will benefit from the portability of the Switch and, alongside the relatively new content for the game that released earlier this month and low price, it makes sense to re-invest. All around, it's a port that feels right at home on Nintendo Switch.
For those unfamiliar with developer MINTROCKET's 2022 darling, follows Dave, who is a diver. He's contracted by a friend to explore the mysterious Blue Hole, a spot in the ocean that consistently changes its makeup and layout every day. Dave's initial journey is simply one of profit and helping open a sushi restaurant, but what unfolds is a genuine look into the lives of a few larger-than-life characters, an entire ancient race of people, and much more.
On Switch or on PC, 's gameplay during the day follows Dave's serene, only sometimes frantic journey through the Blue Hole to acquire materials for upgrades, ingredients for dishes, treasure, and more. While there are elements of panic, like beginning to run out of oxygen or running into a feisty shark (or worse), most of this part of the game is relaxing. On Switch, it's especially so — the portability makes this easy to play in bed under the covers or on a train ride, where its calming effect might be even more appreciated.
Gameplay at night, on the other hand, features Dave scrambling to assist a sushi restaurant — one that uses the ingredients he catches during the day, alongside his physical labor to help guests.
