New footage for has been shown during the February 29, 2024, Nacon Connect conference, along with the first news on when players can get their hands on the game. Spiders' RPG title was announced during the Bigben Week event in Paris back in 2022 and will be a prequel set three years before the events of the first game.
While it didn't show any gameplay, 's new cinematic trailer — which can be found on Nacon's official YouTube channel — showed the game's protagonist, a Teer Fradee native, as they are taken from their land, before showing them engaging in brutal combat in the war-torn continent of Gacane in an attempt to escape captivity. The trailer also showcased some of the companions the players will be fighting alongside — and assuming control of — as well as some of the more hostile creatures they will face.
One of the creatures confirmed to be returning is the Lewolan, which can be seen caged in 's new trailer.
Players won't have to wait much longer to play, as the trailer ended with the announcement that the game will be entering early access this summer. While the game will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, this early access period will only be on Steam, where PC players can also wishlist the game now.
This should come as good news to those who have been eager to jump back into the universe. The first game was extremely well received when it launched back in 2019, with high praise for its rich worldbuilding, likable characters, well-paced writing, and solid gameplay, which combined more fantastical elements such as magic with more grounded weapons such as guns, axes, swords, daggers, and hammers.
Despite entering early access on PC in the summer, a full release date for the game has yet to be confirmed for the other platforms.
