While it’s never a smart idea to pin all of your hopes on a single product when that product is easily the best video game adaptation ever and was so good even the Emmys and Golden Globes acknowledged how incredible it was, you tend to feel safe knowing that the same team is making another season of the story. The Last Of Us Season 2 took a while to get going production-wise due to the strikes within Hollywood last year, but it’s up and running now, and fans can’t wait to see what happens with the sophomore season. Just as important, they want to know when they’ll be able to watch it.
As noted by ComicBook.com, a leaker who has a good track record with information in the past states that The Last Of Us Season 2 could be coming in almost literally a year, as in, it would have a release in either March or April of next year. That would make sense, given that the second season is still filming right now, and the post-production work would take a while to get right, given the various elements that go into making a post-apocalyptic show like this.
Another element to this belief is that one of the stars of the first season, Pedro Pascal, has allegedly finished filming his part for the second season. Many have pointed to a picture of him looking freshly shaven as proof of this. Why would that be the case? Well, in the second game, his character, Joel, had a full mustache and scruffy beard. So, if he were to shave that off, that would seem to indicate that he doesn’t need it anymore. Plus, we know that he’s set to play Reed Richards in a certain Marvel Cinematic Universe movie later this year, and thus, the mustache alone is what would be required for the part based on early concept art.
