Some World of Warcraft fans think the apparent August 19 end date for WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria might coincide with the beginning of The War Within Pre-Patch event. If this speculation proves to be true, World of Warcraft players may be able to narrow in on a release window for The War Within itself.
Recently, World of Warcraft announced the release dates for Patch 10.2.7, Dark Heart, and the subsequent Mists of Pandaria event that comes with it. The final patch of Dragonflight drops on May 7, with WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria starting just over a week later on May 16. While World of Warcraft didn’t give a specific end time for this event, the in-game calendar for The War Within alpha lists it as running through August 19.
However, some fans think this end date might be a huge hint at World of Warcraft’s plans. The roadmap said The War Within Pre-Patch event would take place this summer, with the launch itself in late summer or early autumn. If the WoW: The War Within alpha calendar is accurate, there is reason to suspect the Mists of Pandaria event ending on August 19 means something big is happening on August 20 – likely the Pre-Patch event for The War Within.
