MultiVersus director Tony Huynh has said that he wants Breaking Bad's Walter White to be a playable character as much as we do and will be "pushing as hard as I can" for it.
One of the most exciting things about platform fighters like Super Smash Bros., Brawlhalla, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl are their rosters, which fans love to speculate about and dream of seeing their number one pick in each game. That's even more true of MultiVersus, which is heavily focused on the fact that it brings together Warner Bros. characters across a ton of different franchises.
There are a ton of Warner Bros. properties that fans want to see in MultiVersus, but there's one third-party character that has taken the community by storm and has topped the charts as one of the most-requested inclusions. I am, of course, talking about Breaking Bad's Walter White, whose potential appearance in MultiVersus started out as a meme but has snowballed into becoming a legitimate wish for many fans.
Even though Walter White isn't owned by Warner Bros. and seems like a strange pick for MultiVersus, that hasn't stopped fans (including one particularly passionate Twitter account) from begging for him to be added since the game was revealed. With so much excitement around the topic, I had to ask MultiVersus' director, Tony Huynh, about Heisenberg being added to the roster while talking to him about the relaunch.
When asked about Walter White potentially being added to MultiVersus, Huynh explained that third-party characters aren't easy to get added to the game, since they require a working relationship with the IP-owner. Since Player First Games has worked closely with Warner Bros. over the past few years, it's easier to get characters that they own into MultiVersus, but it's not so simple getting anyone outside of the WB stable.
