Now that Patch 1.4.2 of Diablo 4 is live, it comes with a bevy of welcome quality-of-life changes, buffs, and bug fixes.
One of these quality-of-life changes focuses on tackling Tempering Manual visibility upon drop and their ability to continuously drop when already learned by the player.
Tempering has been a fantastic addition to Diablo 4, but the Tempering Manuals themselves have been somewhat irksome with them providing another source of constant clutter. Now that duplicate Tempering Manuals will no longer drop, players will no longer have to deal with the excess clutter. If you find a Tempering Manual now, it will be one you have yet to learn! In addition, Tempering Manuals of lesser quality will no longer drop if you have already learned the same recipe of a higher quality.
One of the biggest changes to Tempering Manuals is that they will now have the word «Manual» appended to the front of their tooltip on drop. This makes identifying when one has dropped a much easier process. This can potentially also help prevent situations where a Tempering Manual drops but the player doesn't notice it because they don't pick up Magic or Rare items anymore.
