Epic Games releases update 29.10 for LEGO Fortnite, bringing new vehicle builds, custom designs, new crafting tools, as well as bug fixes as well. The Mechanical Mayhem update follows suit with another recent LEGO Fortnite patch earlier in March which added Kit Bundles to the experience. Using prebuilt designs, players could essentially purchase new building designs like Beachside Boulevard or Durrr Burger to spruce up their map.
However, following the release, fans became dissatisfied with the pricing structure in the LEGO Fortnite shop. These LEGO kits range between 1,900 and 2,500 V-Bucks, or $16-21 USD, leaving fans frustrated at the costs being, in some cases, more than the price of two battle passes. Either way, even though the builds are entirely optional and don't offer any benefits, players are still hoping to see future builds come with lower costs. For now, Epic Games has released its latest update, adding a highly requested feature for free.
A new blog post from Epic Games reveals that Vehicle Builds are now live within LEGO Fortnite. Three vehicle builds have been added to the game, including the Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler. The vehicle recipes can be unlocked by adding a Power Cell, Flexwood, or Frostpine to the player's inventory. Once the recipe is unlocked, players can further tweak the build from the Vehicle Parts area in the Toys section of the Build Menu. New tools like the Power Center, Wheels, and Seats are available to add to really put a unique spin on whatever vehicle the player is creating. Since LEGO Fortnite is a popular co-op experience, players can add multiples of these items, like seats, to allow their friends to tag along.
In addition to creating custom vehicles, this latest Fortnite update also adds a number of tools players will need to work with in order to keep their vehicles running. The Compost Bin allows players to essentially recycle old or unwanted items, converting them into resources like Biomass, Fertilizer, or Soil.
