During the recent Phase 3 Preview, Blizzard revealed the newest Raid coming to Season of Discovery on April 4th — The Temple of Atal'Hakkar! Also known as Sunken Temple, this will be the first 20-player raid in Season of Discovery. This raid will feature 8 total boss fights, hundreds of new items and set pieces, as well as revamped Epic items and quest rewards!
Season of Discovery Phase 3 Preview New Rune Ability Previews for Phase 3
As many players may know, The Temple of Atal'Hakkar is the end point for many level 50 class quests, and Blizzard has confirmed that this will continue to be the case in Season of Discovery. While it's not certain what the exact quests and quest rewards will be, Blizzard has stated that the rewards will be upleveled to make them relevant to the current content.
Some examples of revamped Quest Rewards coming in Phase 3, including Avenguard Helm and Helm of Exile.
We were also given a preview of 4 of the 8 boss encounters that will be featured in the Sunken Temple raid; including the returning Atal'alarion, a new boss named The Festering Rot Slime who patrols one of the outer rings, the Jammal'an the Prophet & Ogom the Wretched encounter, and the infamous Shade of Eranikus.
The Festering Rot Slime is the first new boss to be revealed in the Temple of Atal'Hakkar raid.
While conquering these new foes, players will come across new and revamped versions of loot, including the Temple Explorer's Gun Axe. This two-handed axe comes with an ability that allows the wielder to fire a projectile that deals a burst fire damage
