Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has so many iconic scenes to adapt, but one of the most important is the Gold Saucer date. In the original Final Fantasy 7, there was a hidden affinity system, which would pair you up with one of your companions for the dating scene, depending on who Cloud was closest to in your playthrough.
Slight spoilers for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's dating mechanics ahead, including the characters available for the Gold Saucer date.
However, in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, this is taken much further than you'd expect. Not only is the Gold Saucer date making a return but there are also a bunch of other dating opportunities - and not just for Cloud. Now, Aerith and Tifa can go on their own date, answering the cries of passionate Aerti shippers everywhere.
This Aerith and Tifa date is part of a sequence that you've no doubt seen online already - the one where the pair are dressed in swimsuits. On this date, you can run around the area together and play minigames. It's adorable, made even better by the unique dialogue they have with one another, especially when you swap between who's leading the party.
There's also another date between Cloud and Aerith that we won't get into too much detail here, but this is separate from the one in the Gold Saucer. Again, it's an opportunity to take it easy with some minigames, so it's separate from the main action and narrative.
As for the Gold Saucer date, the Rebirth devs were very aware of how much this means to players. This time around, the game will tell you when your relationship with a character has changed, making it easier to grow closer to whoever you're hoping Cloud goes ont he date with. Your options are the same as the original: Aeirth, Tifa, Yuffie, and Barret. But even if you don't end up with the one you want, at least you'll have other opportunities to watch the characters bond with one another throughout the game.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches today and is available exclusively on PlayStation 5. Early
