Christian Bale explains why Thor: Love and Thunder's Gorr the God butcher's look deviates from previous comic-book depictions of the character. As Chris Hemsworth gears up for his MCU return as Thor, audiences are intrigued to see what Thor: Love and Thunder will have in store as the actor reunites with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. Looming on the horizon, however, is Bale's terrifying new villain, Gorr the God butcher, who lets set to dramatically raise the stakes and cause a whole host of new problems for the God of Thunder himself. Thor: Love and Thunder looks set to adapt a similar storyline from Gorr's comic appearances, in which he seeks to destroy every God in the universe following the death of his family. While there may be some major similarities in terms of the character's overall goal, Bale's first appearance as Gorr in the recent trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder sparked immediate discussion online, with many calling out his rather unique appearance from how he has previously been portrayed on the page.
