Normally, we wouldn't be talking about an ad for an insurance company, but we live in a world where even Marvel superheroes need to shill for those dineros. Tessa Thompson, who stars as Valkyrie in Thor: Love and Thunder, also stars in the latest advertisement from Direct Line.
The ad starts with Valkyrie jumping to solve a problem that’s perhaps a little below her pay grade. A skateboard through a storefront shop lands two skateboarders at the mercy of Valkyrie, who apprehends them both using a pair of umbrellas. The situation is eventually de-escalated when the shop owner arrives and informs Valkyrie that further violence isn’t necessary and that Direct Line will help cover the cost of a new window.

The whole ad looks straight out of the world of The Boys, where superheroes typically work for powerful international conglomerates that market and monetize their abilities. Valkyrie's powers aren't necessary in this case, so she instead takes "some time off" in Brighton where she loses a frisbee, eats a lot of fish, and smashes a carnival game.
And as a reminder, Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters on July 6 in Australia and much of Europe, July 7 in Canada and the UK, and July 8 in the United States.
Speaking of Thor, Microsoft is hosting an Xbox Series X giveaway, only the console is shaped like Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.
