According to Deadline, actor Rafael Casal is set for a major role in the upcoming second season of Marvel's Loki series on Disney+, though it's being denied by Marvel at press time. Casal, along with Daveed Diggs co-wrote, produced, and starred in the 2018 movie Blindspotting. The two also co-created and executive produce the Blindspotting series spinoff over at Starz, which debuted earlier this year.
Loki was the first Marvel original series over at Disney+ to get a second season. The Season 1 finale introduced the world to Marvel's next villain, Jonathan Majors as the man who will eventually become Kang the Conqueror.
The news about Casal's role started swirling when he was caught on set alongside Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston, who are reprising their roles from the previous season. This will be Hiddleston's seventh time playing the God of Mischief-turned-anti-hero, not counting flashbacks and footage in the MCU.
It's unknown who Casal is playing in the upcoming season at this time, but there's online speculation he could be playing Marvel Z-list villain, Zaniac.
The premiere date of Season 2 of Loki has not been announced.
