Loki season 2 has cast noted writer-actor Rafael Casal in what is described as a major role. The most-watched Marvel show on Disney+, Loki sees the return of Tom Hiddleston's titular God of Mischief. However, the story focuses on a variant version of the character, who stole the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame. In the show, the bureaucratic Time Variance Authority (TVA) apprehends Loki and tasks him with finding another variant who has been killing TVA agents. Loki season 2 was announced after the final episode of the first season, and filming on the new season is already underway.
Currently, plot details on Loki season 2 are slim. Season 1 ended with serious changes being made to the flow of time after Sylvie ( Sophia Di Martino) kills the man behind the TVA curtain, Jonathan Majors' He Who Remains, who himself is a variant of Kang the Conqueror. The immediate reverberation of Sylvie's decision is that the multiverse is liberated, and Loki and Mobius (Owen Wilson) forget having met each other. Although season 2 is expected to pick up from season 1's cliffhanger ending, it will feature some creative changes. Moon Knight’s Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will step in for director Kate Herron, while Eric Martin is said to serve as the new head writer. Most of the original cast is tipped to return, albeit with some exciting additions.
