's next set has leaked, revealing what players can expect next from the hit mobile game. Later this week, releases its next mini-set as part of the upcoming Pokémon Day celebrations. The set itself will be released on Pokémon Day — Feb 27 — but other details about the set were largely absent until now.
Thanks to an early reveal of an advertisement, it seems we now know the name and focus of the next set. The leaked ad, which was uploaded to Streamable, suggests the next set will be called and will focus on the Mythical Pokémon Arceus. In addition to Arceus,other Pokémon revealed by the leak for the new set include Magnemite, Eevee, Golbat, Crobat, and Heatran. The leaks have not yet been confirmed at the time of writing, but with Pokémon Day just hours away, it's likely this is a legitimate leak.
As a «mini-set,» should contain around 80 cards, with about 60 new cards, and around 20-25 alternate art treatments. The new set will be released on Pokémon Day, February 27th. Past content updates have occurred at 10 PM PST.
Arceus is the Mythical creator of the Pokémon universe and is best known for being able to shift its type thanks to special plates that players can have it hold as an item. The Arceus ex card has the special ability Fabled Luster that prevents Arceus ex from being affected by any Special conditions. It also has a move that deals 70 damage plus 20 additional damage for every Benched Pokémon controlled by the player. This functionally makes Arceus ex a more powerful version of Pikachu ex, which has a similar move dependent on Benched Pokémon.
A new Pokemon TCG Pocket set is on the way and many players it will focus on Giratina, as well as bring other big shifts to the card game.
