Amazon MGM Studios has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel to 2018’s black comedy mystery A Simple Favor. The movie will have its world premiere at the 2025 South by Southwest Film Festival on March 7. It will then be followed by its Prime Video release on May 1.
“In the film, Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman,” reads the official synopsis. “Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.”

The video begins with Anna Kendrick‘s Stephanie Smothers as she gets surprised by the reappearance of Blake Lively‘s Emily Nelson who suddenly invites her to a wedding in Italy. The cast also includes Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Elena Sofia Ricci, with Henry Golding, and Allison Janney.
Another Simple Favor is once again directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay written by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis, based on the characters created by Darcey Bell. The film is executive produced by Jennifer Booth, Sharzer, and Marco Valerio Pugini, with Feig and Laura Fischer serving as producers. It will have a total runtime of 120 minutes. The first installment currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 258 reviews.
