Warning! Spoilers ahead for Thor: Love and Thunder.
For all of its jokes and great humor, Thor: Love and Thunder features quite a number of characters meeting their deaths. Starring Chris Hemsworth, who returns as Thor Odinson, the God of Thunder is joined by his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who's become the Mighty Thor. Along with some of his greatest allies, including King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (Taika Waititi), the Asgardian Avenger faces the threat of Christian Bale's Gorr in Love and Thunder. Also known as the God Butcher, it makes sense that several deities are slain by Gorr in the new Thor film. However, the new villain isn't responsible for every surprising death seen in the new MCU movie.
Angry that the god to whom he prays blatantly ignored his prayers to save his family, Gorr vows to destroy all the gods after coming into possession of the god-killing Necrosword, with an ultimate plan to reach Eternity and gain the power to kill all the gods at once. What follows is a brutal massacre across the cosmos that Thor soon learns of while adventuring with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Together with Jane, King Valkyrie, and Korg, Thor's new team travels to take down Gorr and save the Asgardian children he stole in his quest to draw the God of Thunder out.
