Apple's iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro launch is less than a month away and details related to the flagship devices are being leaked daily. The iPhone 15 Pro models will come with major changes in terms of design and internals. However, the company desperately wants to boost the sales of the standard iPhone 15 models which is why the standard models will receive their fair share of upgrades. According to the latest leak, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will house a USB-C port with Thunderbolt capabilities for higher and faster data transmission speeds.
According to ChargerLab, the iPhone 15 models will feature a Thunderbolt or USB 4 retimer chip which will allow the devices to boast higher data transfer. The entire process will be available on the iPhone 15 models all thanks to the forthcoming USB-C port which will also be available on the 'Pro' models. This is not the first time that a USB-C component of the iPhone 15 has been leaked. The source has seen further images of the iPhone 15's USB-C port which could bring Thunderbolt speeds to the table.
The aforementioned retimer circuit will aid in the higher data transmission on the iPhone 15 Pro. If you are not familiar, the chip is responsible for reinitiating signals and eliminating any breakage of poor signals, making room for higher and faster data transfer speeds. Additionally, the chip also increases the transmission range. The chip is present on other Thunderbolt devices and can be easily identified on the iPhone 15's USB-C port.
