Ubisoft isn’t planning Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC
Ubisoft isn’t currently planning to release Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC.
That’s according to the game’s creative director, Stéphane Boudon.
“For now, Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch [support],” he said during a recent Reddit AMA.
Mirage’s development is being led by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the studio behind the Wrath of the Druids expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Billed as a love letter to the original Assassin’s Creed, gameplay is focused on parkour, stealth and assassinations, marking a return to the action-adventure style of games released prior to the more expansive RPG-style series entries Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla.
Ubisoft showed off eight minutes of Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay last month.
The game is scheduled to release on October 12, 2023, for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Ubisoft revealed the future roadmap for the Assassin’s Creed franchise last September.
It said the next two flagship games after Mirage, codenamed Red and Hexe, would be released as part of the new Infinity franchise hub, the live service initiative announced in 2021.
Red, which is being made by Odyssey developer Ubisoft Quebec and has the same creative director, will begin what Ubisoft is calling “period three” in the Assassin’s Creed series, which has sold over 200 million copies since it launched in 2007, according to its publisher.
Ubisoft is reportedly targeting a 2024 release for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red.
An Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade beta will launch for Android and iOS on August 3, it was announced today.
