It doesn't take a lot for your party in Baldur's Gate 3 to get down and dirty. No, I don't mean it in that way, but I suppose that's true as well. Putting that aside for now - hygiene. The Baldur's Gate 3 gang certainly struggles to maintain it. Thankfully, players have found a solution that doesn't require resting every five minutes.
Turns out, lobbing a bottle of water at someone will clean them off just fine. As long as you get the "wet" status effect, all of the blood and gore will be wiped clean from your target, making them look a whole lot more presentable in cutscenes. Players are taking full advantage of this, keeping topped on water bottles in case they need to give everyone a quick hose down.

I just tested it out, and sure enough, Karlach throwing a water bottle at my character was enough to clean her up in time for the next cutscene. I mean, c'mon, we can't do a long rest every time someone needs a shower, right?
It's a neat little detail from Larian Studios, clearly putting some thought into how players might experiment with the game's various features. Especially since the game never tells you that water can work in this way.
Of course, the main reason to keep stocked up on water is to help you out in combat, since chucking it over an enemy will help you deal more electric damage. That being said... there are plenty of ways to hurt a bad guy and not many to keep your party clean. Priorities gang, come on.
With so many little features like this to discover, there might actually be an even more convenient way to maintain basic hygiene that we're all missing. Perhaps there's a side quest where you get the party
