The iPhone 15 lineup will be announced next month with a wide range of novel features. However, the next year's iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will come with further advancements in terms of hardware as well as software. An analyst now speculates that Apple will use WiFi 7 in the iPhone 16 Pro models compared to WiFi 6E on the iPhone 16 Pro models along with a 48MP ultra wide-angle camera.
The iPhone 15 Pro will launch sometime next month, potentially on September 12 according to Mark Gurman. The device will launch with support for WiFi 6E, offering enhanced download and upload speeds compared to WiFi 6 on the current iPhone 14 Pro models. Now, analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities suggests that the WiFi 7 will be part of next year's iPhone 16 Pro lineup (via MacRumors). This is a year-over-year upgrade in terms of connectivity for the iPhone.
WiFi 7 will support data transmission over 2.4GGz, 5GHz. and 6GHz bands side by side. This will not only deliver faster upload and download speeds but also offer lower latency for a secure and stable connection. With the upcoming standard, playing online games on the iPhone 16 Pro models would be a breeze. In terms of data transfer speeds, WiFi 7 will offer up to 40 Gbps. Other than WiFi 7, Jeff Pu also states that the iPhone 16 Pro models will come with a 48MP ultra wide-angle camera for enhanced image quality.
With an upgraded 48MP ultra wide-angle camera, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max (or iPhone 16 Ultra) will be able to take in more light, allowing the device to capture more details of the subject.
