New World Opening Rise of the Angry Earth PTR Today, With Mounts, Story, New Zone, and More to Test
Today, New World opens up its PTR for the upcoming Rise of the Angry Earth expansion.
This round of testing is a shorter, focused one. In recent announcements, community Q&As and dev chats, the team has mentioned that the expansion would be much shorter than they normally have for a test. The PTR will open today at 8:00 AM PT/ 11:00 AM ET and run through September 18th at 8:00 AM PT/ 11:00 AM ET. That’s it, less than one week for this phase.
Rise of the Angry Earth is set to bring mounts, a new weapon, the Flail, the Elysian Wilds zone, replacing First Light, and a series of overhauls, reworks, and balance changes. There will also be new story content, new Heartrune ability, and other new mechanics, like the riding trade skill and mount quests. For this PTR, the Amazon Games team is looking for feedback on a number of these features. Specifically, they want to focus on 12 particular features:
While on paper this is just 12 items, the scope of how far reaching all of these mechanics and features are to the expansion is a huge amount of content. With the shorter test, you might want to focus on just a couple, or try to get a taste of them all.
