With so many Assassin’s Creed titles in development – not including the rumored ones – it’s interesting to see where Ubisoft goes with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It’s a smaller-scale title, with the $49.99 price reflecting the same. Will it have the same long-term support as its predecessors?
As it turns out, no. In a recent Reddit AMA, one user asked if there was any chance of a quest or mission replay in a post-launch update. Creative director Stephane Boudon replied that there’s currently “no plan for DLC” or extensive post-launch support. It seemingly emphasizes the title’s one-and-done nature once players have completed all the missions and gathered collectibles.
Regarding quick saving, Boudon said, “We noticed stealth players love quick saving, and we decided to make it more accessible. The game difficulty is a factor, of course.” He also revealed that the team focuses on “fluidity and control” for parkour. While it’s “building our own thing, taking inspiration from several ACs,” you won’t find back and side ejects like in the pre-Assassin’s Creed 3 titles.
“We put a lot of effort working on small details to make sure players have the best control on Basim. We are still fine-tuning the Parkour to reinforce even more this control and the feeling of fluidity and agility when traversing Baghdad.”
Assassin’s Creed Mirage releases on October 12th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Head here for more details on protagonist Basim. You can also watch a gameplay walkthrough here.
