Battlefield 2042 hasn’t always done a great job of keeping its seasons on a regular cadence, and it seems Season 5 will be sticking around a little longer than the standard 3-month seasonal time period, as EA and DICE have confirmed Season 6 isn’t coming until October. That said, DICE has announced “Redux,” which will see past events, modes, and other content return in order to keep players engaged while they wait. We’ve also got a first tease of the new map that’s coming with Season 6. You can check out the latest Battlefield 2042 developer update trailer, below.
While it was only a brief glimpse, it seems like Battlefield 2042 is going Halloween-y with its Season 6 map, which DICE is promising will be “chillingly unique” with “dark secrets.” BF2042 generally has a fairly bright and peppy aesthetic, so something a little more dark and gloomy could be interesting.
“We don’t want to spoil all the details just yet, but we’re excited to share a tiny glimpse of the new map in the Development Update video! Expect a chillingly unique new battleground harboring dark secrets where you’ll confront your fear of the unknown. It’s one of our favorite maps we’ve built so far and we can’t wait to share more with you at a later time.”
In the meantime, we have Redux, which will see the return of the Liquidators, Battle of Nordvik and Leviathan Rising events, with their associated rewards. Various limited-time modes will also be returning, now with new tweaks and the ability to play on additional maps.
