Hasbro has shared the official first-look photos from its upcoming stop-motion animated series titled,. Inspired by Paramount Pictures’ acclaimed Transformers One movie, the 14-episode will start streaming on January 17 on the official Transformers YouTube channel. New episodes will be released every Friday and Saturday.
“We are delighted to give fans a new opportunity to revisit the world of Cybertron depicted in the TRANSFORMERS ONE animated feature film,” Hasbro executive Alyse D’Antuono said in a press release. “This collaborative effort with TheSoul Publishing continues to push the boundaries of the TRANSFORMERS brand and reach new fans around the world.”
“This bi-weekly stop-motion series will capture the trendiness of gaming and POV-style content, infused with bursts of action-based comedy and high-stakes drama,” reads the logline. It will transport fans directly into key locations from the TRANSFORMERS ONE film. This series takes place beyond the existing canon and offers fans a unique perspective on their favorite characters’ points of view.”
Transformers One: New Adventures is produced and distributed in partnership with TheSoul Publishing. During the theatrical run of the original movie, it garnered positive reviews from critics and fans. It currently holds a Certified Fresh Tomatometer rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a near-perfect Popcornmeter score of 97%.
Described as the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, the 2024 film was directed by Josh Cooley from a screenplay written by Andrew Barer, Steve Desmond, Gabriel Ferrari, and Michael Sherman. It featured the voices of Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/Megatron, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Steve Buscemi as Starscream.
