Chivalry developer Torn Banner Studios is laying off some of its staff.
In a post on LinkedIn, CEO and creative director Steve Piggott announced that it was having to make some job cuts as part of a restructuring effort at the developer. There's no word as to how many jobs specifically are affected.
Piggot did say that employees that are impacted will be given severance and be able to keep their work computers. Furthermore, he wrote that Torn Banner would be helping staff find roles at other studios where possible.
"As a fully independent, self-funded developer, we're up against many challenges," Piggott wrote.
"Our team is navigating this process with a tremendous amount of care and appreciation for those that are impacted. Torn Banner Studios would not be the place it is today without the dedication, passion and accomplishments of these great people."
He added that Chivalry 2's development would not be affected by these cuts
"At Torn Banner, it continues to be our mission to craft unforgettable cinematic experiences, whether on the battlefield or surviving a zombie apocalypse. Our most recent early access release, No More Room in Hell 2, is central to our goals as a studio. We truly believe we are crafting one of the most unique and incredible zombie experiences out there and our studio is fully committed as we move forward with a full 1.0 release in 2025. We are still actively working on everything we've spoken about in our roadmap, and more. Torn Banner will continue to work hard to develop the game alongside ourcommunity.
"Chivalry 2, which received its final update earlier in 2024, is not impacted, and servers will remain up as normal."
