Developer Red Barrels has announced that its co-op horror game The Outlast Trials has gone gold. This puts the game on track for its planned release on March 5. The PC version of the game has been available through Steam’s Early Access since back in May 2023.
The studio made the announcement through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where it thanked the game’s console fans for waiting patiently for the game’s release. The Outlast Trials is currently available for pre-order on both consoles’ digital storefronts.
Originally released as an Early Access title on PC, The Outlast Trials has seen quite a few updates, ranging from additional content to limited time seasonal content celebrating different festivals and holidays. The final release date for the game was announced back in December alongside its PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions.
The Outlast Trials saw a fair bit of success through Steam Early Access, having sold over 500,000 copies in its first week. For more details of the game’s Early Access launch, check out our review.
