Ravensburger has lifted the lid on its previously announced ‘expandalone’ expansion to Star Wars Villainous, bringing two of the series’ most iconic baddies to the game for the first time.
In Star Wars Villainous: Revenge At Last, you’ll be able to take charge of either Darth Maul or Captain Phasma, complete with their own strategies, and, of course, the abstract game pieces that make the Villainous series look so cool.
Announced earlier this year, the Villainous series – including Star Wars, Disney, and Marvel – will be moving to a smaller ‘expandalone’ product lineup, with smaller releases of a couple of characters at a cheaper price over the large-scale expansions of before.
Every Villainous release is compatible with the others in its line, meaning you can play Revenge At Last with the other Star Wars Villainous releases, like the Power of the Dark Side base release and its first expansion, Scum and Villainy.
Maul, of course, appeared in the prequel trilogy as one of the main antagonists of The Phantom Menace. Meanwhile, Phasma had less of an impact on the series, but was still a big threat in the first two sequel trilogy movies, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. As a Stormtrooper captain, she’s best known for her chrome armour and ruthless commitment to the First Order.
We don’t know how Maul and Phasma will play just yet, but head of new games marketing at Ravensburger Lysa Penrose has said that Maul’s will focus on his mastery of the dark side of the force through “immersive gameplay”. We can also expect it to chronicle his rise to Sith Lord and eventual fall, as well.
We know even less about Phasma. She’s been described by Ravensburger as being “fiercely formidable”, and that we’ll find out more
