A new live-action Street Fighter movie is under development. According to IGN, rights for a new movie based on the fighting game franchise have been acquired by Legendary Entertainment. The movie company will be working with Capcom for the live-action movie, and even potential TV adaptations.
There has been no details revealed about the movie yet, including the title, or even which of Street Fighter‘s diverse cast of characters will be the focus of the movie.
The movie adaptation is likely being made in anticipation of success for the upcoming Street Fighter 6, which is slated to bring a host of new features to the franchise, including a single-player World Tour mode that allows players to make their own characters and travel the world fighting against, and alongside various Street Fighter 6 characters.
More recently, Capcom released a new developer match video featuring Cammy and newcomer Manon. The video showed off the grappling prowess of both characters, with Cammy proving to be better at quick grapples, and Manon being more adept at countering attacks into grapples.
Street Fighter 6 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on June 2. The game will feature a roster of 18 playable characters at launch, and more will undoubtedly be released down the line as post-launch content.
