Despite being almost a decade old, Bloodborne remains a mainstay in pop culture. The game is still widely enjoyed by enthusiasts, and there’s been demand for an updated PS5 and PC version for quite some time now. Streaming superstar Kai Cenat, dressed in full Yharnam garb, is aiming to raise awareness for the re-release – and he’s currently streaming the original to around 100k people.
“I don’t think I have the power to [convince them to make the game],” he said on stream. “But I do have the power to bring attention to it. The least I can do is try to push the narrative. PlayStation, FromSoftware: this is one of the most highly requested games for a remaster and a PC version. Can you please do something?”
Sony published Bloodborne and owns the intellectual property, so it’s ultimately down to the Japanese giant to resurrect the release. Even boss and director Hidetaka Miyazaki seems to want to deploy an updated version of the title: “If I say I want [a remaster], I'll get in trouble. Unfortunately, and I've said this in other interviews, it's not my place to talk about Bloodborne specifically.”
The reality is that a revamped version of Bloodborne, available on PS5 and PC with upgraded graphics and running at 60 frames-per-second, would be an enormous release for PlayStation. Clearly it’s going to happen at some point, it just feels like the platform holder’s waiting for the stars to align before it pulls the trigger. Let’s hope Kai Cenat’s intervention helps speed up the process.
