The PlayStation 5 Pro design won't be much different that that of the current base model, according to a new report from a reliable leaker.
Earlier today, well-known leaker billbil-kun provided some new information on the yet-to-be-released system, confirming that it will unsurprisingly be named PlayStation 5 Pro, judging from the front of the final packaging they were able to see. The front of the final packaging also revealed the console's design, which looks pretty much the same as the current base model, barring a few minor differences and a slightly thicker size.
Interestingly enough, the PlayStation 5 Pro may be released without a disc drive, as the packaging seen by the leaker shows the system without one. The leaker, however, couldn't confirm if this model will be the only one to get released. Additionally, the console will come with a standard DualSense controller.
Regarding the timing of the announcement, billbil-kun couldn't precisely confirm when the PS5 Pro will be revealed, but it shouldn't take much longer, as the long-rumored system should be revealed during the first half of September.
The PlayStation 5 Pro has yet to be officially announced, but it was basically an open secret at Gamescom 2024, with developers talking freely about it even to our Alessio. We will keep you updated on it as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
