Exploding with popularity when it first released, the hype for Sons of the Forest has eased off now, but that doesn't mean people aren't still playing it, and developer Endnight Games has put out update number two, which comes with plenty of changes. Whether fans are more into AAA titles or prefer something from the indie scene, right now there's a lot to be excited about when it comes to horror gaming, and the follow-up to The Forest is just one way the genre is being kept in good standing.
When Endnight launched the sequel in February, Sons of the Forest was a smash hit on Steam, becoming a top seller on the Valve-owned platform, even beating out the likes of Hogwarts Legacy and the Steam Deck. Even before it came out, it was the most wishlisted title on the PC gaming client, which briefly put it ahead of Starfield. In terms of bug squashing, this latest update has patched a laundry list's worth of glitches, such as fixing the GPS locator, addressing an issue in which the player could become stuck in «a bad state» when equipping items, plus plenty of other issues that have been looked over. There are also some balance tweaks that have been implented as well, such as increasing the burn time on campfires.
