Universal Pictures has published a new Super Mario Bros. Movie clip ahead of the film’s release on Wednesday.
The latest footage, which is viewable below, is titled ‘Princess Peach Training Course Clip’.
It shows Peach jumping across platforms, sliding under obstacles, and outmaneuvering Bullet Bills and Piranha Plants to reach the end of level flagpole.
The Mario movie will be released on April 5 in over 60 markets, including the US and the UK.
“While working underground to fix a water main, Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Chris Pratt; Jurassic World and The Lego Movie franchises) and brother Luigi (Charlie Day; It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) are transported down a mysterious pipe and wander into a magical new world,” an official synopsis reads.
“But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic quest to find Luigi. With the assistance of a Mushroom Kingdom resident Toad (Keegan-Michael Key; The Lion King) and some training from the strong-willed ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy;The Queen’s Gambit), Mario taps into his own power.”
The film’s premiere took place in Los Angeles on Saturday and the first verdicts were mostly very positive.
Mario voice actor Pratt recently revealed that the film has a post-credits scene that may hint at a potential sequel.
