Samsung and Batteries Plus have announced a new partnership wherein 35 Batteries Plus locations will become Samsung Authorized Service Centers. The two companies have been working together since 2018, though Batteries Plus has mostly acted as an independent service provider that handled out-of-warranty repairs.
Under the terms of the new partnership, Batteries Plus will now be able to cover in-warranty repairs of Galaxy phones, service Galaxy foldables, as well as perform out-of-warranty services. The companies say that Battery Plus technicians at the 35 locations in question will be trained rigorously to become Samsung Certified, which Samsung says is "the highest standard for quality device repairs." Technicians that attain this certification may be able to complete some repairs as quickly as the same day.
Generally, Samsung mobile devices like Galaxy smartphones carry a one-year warranty on the both device and its internal battery. Samsung's standard warranty does not cover damage caused by a number of things. For example, damage from pressing on the screen with excessive force is not covered. Also, damages caused by exposure to liquid, moisture, or dampness are not covered by the warranty. Just because a device has an ingress protection rating of IP68 (as many Samsung phones do) doesn't mean it's invincible against all liquids. IP ratings typically only apply to fresh water, and exposure to liquids like soda, beer, or seawater fall outside of that range of protection and aren't covered.
If you need your broke or busted Samsung fixed, you can schedule a repair at BatteriesPlus.com. There is a service locator on Samsung.com, but walk-ins are also allowed. Batteries Plus has some 600 locations spread around the US.
