Star Citizen Hosting CitizenCon 2953 This Weekend in Los Angeles, New Update Launching

T his weekend, Star Citizen’ s CitizenCon 2953 will be back as an-person event at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Since this is the first time in several years that the con is being held in person, Cloud Imperium Games is making the event’s return a big one.

CitizenCon kicks off tomorrow, October 21st, and runs through Sunday, October 22nd. For those who can't make it to California, the event will be livestreamed on theStar Citizen Twitch channel. This means all of the panels, reveals, activities, and presentations from the team will be available to watch globally. 

In the event announcement, Chairman and CEO Chris Roberts said, “CitizenCon is ultimately about our incredible community, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to return with our largest-scale physical event ever, while continuing to support our global community online. We have so many exciting developments and advancements to share that will make this our best CitizenCon to date”.

So what can we expect?  First, The next Star Citizen update, Alpha 3.21: Mission Ready, is also launching with the event.  Saturday’s keynote will be followed by several panels. Among them are “Shaping the ‘Verse”, a panel on the team’s progress and future of Starengine, a cosplay competition, “Talking Ship 2953” on all the newly released vehicles,and “Navigating the Universe”, a panel on design and evolution of the game’s UI.

Sunday begins with a panel on character advancement, customization, outlaw styles, and more options on the way for character creation. Also expect discussion of improvements to first person gameplay, what is coming in the next iteration of the flight experience, and a final panel for reveals. These will cover some of the new interactions, missions, gameplay,
