Warhammer 40,000: Darktide developer Fatshark has announced a new, two-part update,The Traitor Curse, with a new zone, new mission, and more, to mark the first anniversary.
Darktide will get the update in two parts. The first part will be released soon, sometime this month, and the second part will release sometime in December before the holidays.
The first part features a new zone, The Carnival, where you’ll find plenty of “transgressive distractions and entertainment” in an all new, disreputable location. With a brand new cinematic, we’ll get to learn more about the Moebian 6th too. With this information and the new zone, there's also a brand new mission.
Once you've learned a little bit more about the Moebian 6th, it's time to strike hard at their operations. You’ll have to root them out and strike at the hordes of enemies over in the section of The Carnival known as Mercantile.
The update will also feature a couple of quality of life updates, including the ability to inspect other players within the Mourningstar. This should help everyone know if their teammates are up to snuff and ready to take on the challenge in front of them.
The other major change coming is a reset of the Veteran talent tree. The tree will be overhauled, and there will be Keystones added, so if you log in after the update and notice your talent tree has been completely reset, this is why. You'll have to reassign all your talent points before heading out into the seedy new zone.
Fatshark promises more details on part two by the end of November, after the first part is out.
