Longtime Solid Snake actor David Hayter seems to be teasing some big news, and fans think it's Metal Gear Solid 4 related. This comes amid rumours of Metal Gear Solid 4 getting some kind of re-release, and if David Hayter is back in the studio for it, it might be getting some pretty big overhauls.
None of this is confirmed, of course, but Hayter is certainly teasing something here. On Twitter, he's just shared a selfie with a model of Solid Snake, or Old Snake, as he appears in Metal Gear Solid 4, alongside the caption: "Had a pretty cool meeting the other day..."
Whatever this meeting was about, it was exciting enough to tell us about - or at least tell us that it took place. While we can't say for sure, it definitely seems like Hayter is hinting that he's reprising his role as Snake in some capacity, and that this capacity will be Metal Gear Solid 4 related.
Fans have started to expect a Metal Gear Solid 4 re-release in recent weeks. When Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 launched in late October, it was quickly found to contain files related to Metal Gear Solid 4, 5, and Peace Walker. Many fans are expecting something to come of this, as it's an odd thing to find in the data for a collection that doesn't contain these games. Still, we've heard nothing from Konami on this since so it's not clear what's going on at all.
Despite launching in 2008, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is still exclusive to the PlayStation 3. It never got a re-release on other platforms.
