Here's how to evolve Cottonee in The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's second DLC, The Indigo Disk, adds a number of new Pokemon to the game. Included in that list is Cottonee, a grass/fairy from Gen 5, which requires a special method to evolve them. Considering that fairy-type Pokemon are pretty powerful and one of the elite four in the new DLC uses dragon-type Pokemon, this is one Pokemon you might want to have. Here's where you can catch Cottonee and how to evolve them into Whimsicott.
Cottonee is found in the Coastal Biome, specifically in the northern section of the area. It can be found pretty much anywhere on the island where the Coastal Plaza is located.
To evolve Cottonee into Whimsicott, you need to give them a Sun Stone, a relatively common evolution item. This item can be found throughout the Terarium in The Indigo Disk as a random spawn on the ground in the form of sparkling spots. If you don't want to rely on luck, it can be purchased from the Blueberry Academy's School Store for 250 Blueberry Points, which are earned by completing miscellaneous tasks in the Terarium.
