The RuneScape team has been vocal about greater transparency and the efforts to include the community further in the development process. Now, they’ve revealed drop rates for the Sanctum of Rebirth, the Osseous fight, and Daemonheim Archaeology, with details on future releases.
Drop rates for these big new content additionsare here, and the team is announcing that, going forward, after a new content update, they'll be revealing drop rates about a month after the new content is released. So you can feel free to take part in the new content and see how things go, or even choose to wait until you have more of an idea of what you're stepping into before you test your luck.
Sanctum of Rebirth has a couple of drops in normal and hard modes, with high risk also increasing your chances at some of the unique rewards. For example, getting The Scripture of Amascut and Divine Rage Prayer means you’ll need to hit the loot table for books first (1 in 90 for normal/ 1 in 80 for hard) and then 50% if you do. For the Nefthys’ Tooth boss pet, idds are 1 in 400 on normal, and 1 in 240 on hard. Remember that in the new boss dungeon, if you play on normal there is a new resurrection mechanic that doesn’t apply on hard.
For Osseus, the drops are 1/200 for Heart of the Berserker. If you’re hoping for the Jail Cell key, You have an overall 1 in 399 chance. As for Daemonheim Archeology, we now have drop rates and mechanics for excavation drops with Skeka’s Hypnowand and Balarak’s Sash Brush.
Overall, having this info after giving those who want to jump right in time with the content both works with their transparency pledge and community involvement. Waiting a month gives the development team time to listen to feedback and make fixes, and then get even more feedback before they release all the info.
