Shiny Passimian is finally making its debut during a special Raid Day event in September 2024, meaning Trainers will be able to catch both Passimian and Oranguru in their rare Shiny variants. Although Shiny Oranguru has been available to encounter since Fest 2023, this is the first time Shiny Passimian has appeared in the mobile game.
These two primates first appeared in on the Nintendo 3DS, with the lemur-inspired Passimian being exclusive to the Sun version of the game and the orangutan-inspired Oranguru being exclusive to the Moon version of the game. They're considered counterparts, so Shiny hunters will no doubt be eager to add them both to their Shiny Pokémon collection to make the perfect pair.
Your best opportunity to find a Shiny Passimian and a Shiny Oranguru will be during the Research Day: Oranguru and Passimian event, which takes place from 2 PM to 5 PM local time on Sunday, September 22, 2024. One of the bonuses of this mini-event is boosted Shiny odds for Passimian and Oranguru, making it the perfect time to try and encounter one.
You'll be able to earn reward encounters with Passimian and Oranguru by completing event-exclusive Field Research tasks. These can be claimed by spinning PokéStops or Gym Discs during event hours. Remember, if you've already reached the maximum number of Field Research tasks (usually three or four), you can always delete some to make room for new ones.
The Psychic Cup is the perfect time for your Psychic-type Pokémon to shine in Pokémon GO, but you'll need the best team if you want to win.
The event will also feature a paid-for set of Timed Research tasks that will provide extra Passimian and Oranguru reward encounters when you complete Field Research tasks. This can be purchased from the in-game shop for $2 or the equivalent price in your local currency.
This set of Timed Research tasks will expire once the event ends, so you'll only have three hours to complete it and claim all of the reward encounters. Only purchase this
