Despite Resident Evil 4 Remake being celebrated by almost everyone, it has still managed to create a little discourse. Some of you have taken issue with Capcom signposting barrels and boxes containing loot to be found using yellow paint. Well, there's now a mod for that. One that rids Resident Evil 4 of all its yellow paint, its creator claiming that it makes the remake more immersive.
Created by BonusJZ, and available through Nexus Mods, with the mod applied, you won't find a single spot of yellow paint throughout the entire game. There's an option to add blood splatters and insignias instead, so details more in keeping with the game's scenery. However, as highlighted by GamesRadar's Austin Wood, users of the mod desperate to feel as one with the remake's world might regret it.

Yes, those who dislike the yellow paint pointing players in the right direction have a point. Receptacles with useful objects inside aren't helpfully smattered with paint in real-life. My cutlery drawer isn't painted yellow to help me remember that's where I keep the forks. However, what you gain in immersion by removing the yellow paint you likely lose in enjoyment as the game becomes infinitely more annoying.
When the helpful barrels and boxes aren't splattered in yellow, you have to search everything to find the good stuff. There will likely be a select few of you who enjoy that, but odds are many others will quickly tire of it and want the paint back. The mod's creator is clearly well aware of that as they've also made a mod that turns Resident Evil 4's bear traps red, something that makes the game a little less immersive but exponentially less annoying.
