This is quite incredible: the PS5 has been available for over two years now, but it’s spent most of that time out of stock. Now platform holder Sony has finally got its supply chain in order, it’s unexpectedly discounted the device, with its God of War Ragnarok bundle available until 16th April, 2023 for $509.99. That represents a $50 saving on the MSRP.
The bundle’s widely available as well, from retailers like PlayStation Direct, Amazon, Target, and Best Buy – although there is the caveat this offer will only be honoured while stocks last. The platform holder set some pretty aggressive sales targets for the current fiscal year, and we’re going to assume this part of its final push to achieve them.

If you haven’t picked up a PS5 yet, then there’s probably never been a better time to get one: the release schedule is stacked with awesome games, PSVR2 just greatly expanded the scope of experiences available on the system, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is right around the corner. There are rumours of a revised hardware model with a detachable disc drive launching later this year, but this is unlikely to change much to the core experience.
Meanwhile, a hypothetical PS5 Pro has been teased by some tipsters, but it’s unlikely to arrive until late 2024 at the earliest – if it even exists at all.
