Much like its predecessor, the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is a stellar mini console. Due to its exclusivity to Japan, the Genesis Mini 2 has somewhat flown under the radar since launching last fall. Sega fans who are interested in the console should definitely take a look at Amazon today. The retailer is selling the Sega Genesis Mini 2 for $88.19 (plus $22.30 shipping), which is the lowest price we've seen. The shipping cost is high because you're importing from Japan.
It's worth noting that Sega only manufactured 10% of the stock versus the original Genesis Mini. Though it's a bit surprising to see it available again months after launch, we wouldn't be shocked if the console becomes hard to find for a reasonable price soon.
The Sega Genesis Mini is loaded with 61 Sega games, including both Genesis and Sega CD titles. Some of the standouts: Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic 3D Blast, The Revenge of Shinobi, Earthworm Jim 2, Golden Axe 2, Shining Force CD, and Super Street Fighter II — The New Challengers.
On the hardware side, the mini-console comes with a six-button Genesis controller and is compatible with the three-button controllers released with the original Genesis Mini.
