The first sign that the end of the world is upon us will be that Milestone will stop making games about motorbikes. It has three or four annual series, all concerned with racing on two wheels. Hot Wheels Unleashed was some sort of inexplicable anomaly, but hey, we're getting back on track now. The latest game from the studio is RIDE 5, which is set to arrive on 24th August 2023.
This new instalment in the RIDE franchise will be the first Milestone game on new-gen consoles only; in other words, it's coming to PS5, but not PS4. This will allow the team to delve into some high-end tech and produce a more realistic racing sim. The game will include a dynamic weather system, volumetric clouds, and improved bike physics «in every aspect».
RIDE 5 will feature a full career, with a narrator commentating on your progress as well as your standing against a total of 10 rival riders. It'll also have split-screen local multiplayer — back by popular demand — and cross-play between the console versions. Finally, the game will allow you to make custom race events and fully customise your motorbikes, suits, and helmets.
