NIS America has announced that The Caligula Effect 2 is getting a PS5 version this Autumn / Fall. The quirky RPG originally released for the PS4 back in October 2021, and was fairly well received by fans of the genre.
If you're out of the loop, The Caligula Effect 2 has some slight Persona vibes, as a group of highschool students take on a weird illusory world. Battles are turn-based with a hint of strategy, and the story's got some cool ideas.
We called it a «rough but intriguing JRPG» in our The Caligula Effect 2 PS4 review, awarding it a respectable but somewhat cautionary 6/10. «A relatively unique experience,» we concluded.

There's no mention of specific improvements in this PS5 port, so we assume that this is just NIS America taking advantage of a re-release on a popular platform, much like it's been doing with Ys VIII and Ys IX.
