Post returns to Sega Europe in leadership shakeup
pcgamesinsider.bizIndustry veteran Jurgen Post (pictured) has returned to Sega Europe after over six years.
The former president is back as regional MD and COO of the company's Western studios. Post previously worked at Sega Europe for over ten years; he joined as the firm's managing director in 2006 before rising to SVP of the Japanese giant's EMEA division in 2010. Two years later, he was promoted to COO of Sega Europe, a role he held until he left in 2017.
Since then, he has worked at Tencent, Miniclip and Frameplay.
Post returns amid a leadership shakeup; Sega Europe president and CEO Gary Dale is leaving having joined in 2018, while the firm's chief studios officer, Tim Heaton, is also moving on.
“From myself, and everyone associated with Sega, Gary and Tim have our thanks for their contributions to the business,” Sega co-COO and president of global consumer games and transmedia Shuji Utsumi said.
“I’m delighted to welcome Jurgen Post back to Sega Europe and excited to see him guide the business towards future growth.”
These changes come amid a shakeup at the company's European arm. Most notably, Creative Assembly has faced layoffs in the wake of Sega cancelling its big-budget title Hyenas.
